What is the Growing for Good program?
Growing for Good is a Demeter Earth initiative connecting local farmers and artisans with food banks, co-ops, and households in need.
By tagging eligible items, vendors can donate products directly through the marketplace — no middlemen, no red tape.
How do I join the program?
Simply opt in by listing one or more products under the Growing for Good category in your dashboard.
For donated items:
- Set the price to $0
- Enable free delivery within your service radius
- Include this note in the product description:
“This product is part of Demeter Earth’s Growing for Good program and is reserved for verified community recipients. A valid Community Code is required at checkout.”
How are orders verified?
All $0 orders must include a valid Community Code provided to food banks or verified households.
If a $0 order is placed without a code, please cancel it to maintain program integrity.
Do I pay seller fees on $0 orders?
No. Seller fees are waived on all $0 Growing for Good transactions.
Do I need to deliver donation items for free?
Yes. Vendors offering $0 donation items agree to provide free local delivery within their standard service area.
You can coordinate details directly with the customer or food bank after the order is placed.
Can I claim my donations for tax purposes?
Yes — most donations to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations can be tax-deductible.
Keep these two records:
- Seller Dashboard Order Record (proof of transaction)
- Donation Letter from the Food Bank (proof of charitable contribution)
Demeter Earth does not issue tax forms.
How do I get recognized as a participating vendor?
Vendors who participate in Growing for Good are featured in Demeter Earth’s social media spotlights, email newsletters, and community updates.
You’ll also appear in the dedicated Growing for Good collection on the website — helping local customers see your commitment to community.
Do I get a reduced seller fee for participating?
Yes. Vendors who participate in the Growing for Good program will receive a 7.2% reduced seller fee on your regular products.
Can I choose which partners I donate to?
Yes. You can coordinate directly with any approved food bank or community organization.
All partners are verified by Demeter Earth and registered as Community Partners.
